Yesterday was the official friend birthday party for Lizette and Lexi. Lizette has been attending many birthday parties this past year and seemed excited about the idea of having her own. So we went for it! I told her maybe we could do a friend party every few years and since five is a big milestone, we decided this would be a great year to start.
We invited cousins, neighbors and a couple of preschool friends...all girls for a 'Pink and Princessy Birthday Party'. I pinkified our family and dining rooms, set up shop for some bracelet making and face painting and figured we were pretty well set for a good time.
The girls seemed to enjoy the bracelets and face painting, but it seemed so quiet for a party. I was worried that maybe I should have stuck to just games. I really don't know. I feel so new to this kid party thing! We did play a quick round of pin the tail on the donkey and that added a little more pizazz to the event.
However, half way through the party Lizette got super quiet and a little clingy to me. Afterward, I found out that she was just overwhelmed. She loves all of her friends and especially her cousins, but I think having them all there at once was a lot to take in.
She did perk right up when it was time to open gifts (of course!), and I think she ended the party on a fun and good note. She received some of the cutest things and was so excited. It was super nice and I so appreciated everyone for coming and for the cute gifts they brought. Thank you!
Here is the event in pictures. Thanks to our resident photographer, Daddy!
So cute! So fun! I love it! Maybe next year we can come... :)
ReplyDeleteWho did the painting? I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteI did the face painting. I picked up some basic skills for my class reunion that was in August where I did face painting for the family picnic. Super easy and the kids love it!
