Lexi is Two!!

Lexi turned two today! She is such a joy to us and I can't believe two years have gone by since she came into our lives. Lexi is personality plus! When we go almost anywhere, she makes it a point to wave at everyone she sees. She loves to hug all of us all the time. In fact, she sometimes tackles Lizette just to give her hugs. She loves to take care of her baby dolls and she is such an affectionate little girl. On the other hand she will fight you to the death over toys or whatever it is that she wants at the moment. She does have a temper! She is learning to control it better each day. Maybe a better term than temper is passion. Lexi is definitely passionate.

At two she is talking up a storm! All my worries about her not talking as much as she should have gone out the window. Silly mother that I am! She says tons of words and phrases now. Here are a few:

"NO LIKE IT!"

"How 'bout ______?" (When she is choosing songs to sing at bed time)

"All done!"

"Is broken!"

"MINE!!"

"Take turns?"

"Where sissy?"

"Peas"(Please)

"Day-doo"(Thank you)

And, she not only says many words and phrases, but she sings all sorts of songs very well. "ABC", "Twinkle, Twinkle", "A la la"(Short for My Heavenly Father Loves Me), "Itsy, Bitsy Spider" and "Head, shoulders, knees and toes." She has a beautiful little voice and we are counting on her to be the singing talent in the family.

Since we are having a little birthday party for the girls later in the week, we celebrated today with a birthday cookie and some presents just for her. She didn't really seem to understand what all the fuss was about, but she did enjoy licking the frosting off of the cookie and playing with some new toys. Once again, the favorite toys came from the dollar store! Why do I ever shop anywhere else? Some fairy wings and a puzzle would have sufficed just fine. Some day I will learn! :)
