It's been a little while since I've posted so I thought I would post a few updates. Unfortunately, we are having issues with our computer and it is taking FOREVER to load pictures lately. So, you will have to live without seeing pics of my sweet girls for a while.
Here are some highlights of what we have been up to:
(Side note---after reading through these, I think these highlights are just about all I ever blog about. The girls, organizing and decorating, my 20 year reunion...sorry to be a broken record!)
- Went to Grandma and Grandpa Rigby's last weekend. Great trip except that Lexi loathes her car seat now. Otherwise, the girls loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa and getting spoiled all weekend. I'm so glad that my girls have great grandparents. They absolutely love them.
- Speaking of the girls, they are doing great. Lexi is still naughty. So naughty! :) She pulls hair, bites, screams, all out attacks us. Lizette and I both have battle scars to prove it. But we are coming up with better strategies for handling it. She had her first appointment today to find out if she will be eligible for speech therapy through the Idaho Infant Toddler Program. She is still not saying many words at all, so I worry. She also has a little bit of a walking malfunction. Her right foot turns in when she walks and causes her to stumble all the time. They might be able to help her with that too. We'll see. Lizette is doing well. She just finished up her first term of gymnastics and enjoyed every moment of that. She has been lucky enough to have tons of play dates lately, which she also loves. Can't wait to post more pics of them both soon.
- Organizing and decorating our home. Well, heavier to organizing, but I am excited to post a picture of a new wall arrangement that just recently came together. I bought a fantastic piece of iron work at Graples in Nampa and then added some vinyl lettering around it that says "Find Joy in the Journey." All you LDS folk have heard this phrase I'm sure. I like it very much. Jeff and I have been talking a lot lately about how we need to DO MORE, HAVE FUN, and ENJOY LIFE. Hence, the "Find Joy in the Journey" quote on our wall. That is what we are doing now. Finding joy. In the journey.
- Ahhh, and then there is my 20 year reunion that I am in charge of. Did you know I was the senior class president at my school? Surprising to many I'm sure. However, I am learning that the reason that I was elected is because I was the only one dumb enough to say "Sure, I'll plan the reunions!" Silly, silly girl that I was. This is a stressful thing for me. To the point that I haven't even been excited about the reunion. I just want it over with! But, as you read in my last bullet, I am now finding joy in the journey. So, I am trying to have a better attitude. I am looking forward to seeing dear friends that I never get to see anymore. Anyway, stay tuned for more details as this event unfolds. Yikes!
- I have decided that I am done with crafts. No more beads or hair bows or home made cards or paper scrapbooking. I'm done! Cold turkey. No more. I have found that I get extremely frustrated doing craft projects. I end up spending way more money than I plan on. Take way more time than I plan on. And then I just get frustrated. So this is my plan. I'm getting rid of most of my supplies. Only keeping a few things for projects with the kids. From now on my focus will be what I enjoy most. Decorating and organizing our house and digital scrapbooking. Those are going to be my "thing" now. Just so you know.

Restaurant Review #1 - Donnie Mac's
I am starting a new segment on our blog called Restaurant Reviews. Original title, I know. Jeff and I have decided (well, I decided) that whenever we go out for date night, we will try a new restaurant that we haven't tried before. I am so excited about this! I love trying different foods and there are so many restaurants in Boise with great reputations. Can't wait to get to all of them!
First stop: Donnie Mac's Trailer Park Cuisine located at 1515 W. Grove Street in downtown Boise.
When you first walk in to this place, you get an instant impression that this isn't going to be your normal restaurant experience. From the eclectic decor to the 60 something hipster looking guy playing live guitar music.
I had heard the food was very good and could not wait to try it. Their menu is not huge, but has plenty to offer any appetite. It looks to be pretty basic American fare offering things like burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, several salads, some fried chicken dishes, a few sandwiches and shakes.
The mac and cheese caught my eye right off and I ordered the kids size portion. (Which was plenty by the way! I couldn't even finish that and I can put down food with the best of them.)
Jeff ordered a double cheeseburger. We both chose the sweet potato fries for our sides.
Verdict? Awesome! Both meals were great. The mac and cheese was perfectly cheesy and Jeff said his burger was really, really good. He is very picky, so this is saying something. We both liked the sweet potato fries. In fact, I think that was my favorite part of the meal. They serve the fries with a sweet and tangy sauce that is great. I kept thinking that it tasted familiar. I don't know if there is a hint of brown sugar in the sauce that resembles having sweet potatoes and brown sugar during the holidays or what. Anyway, it was good.
The prices are very reasonable. My meal was $4.99 since it was a smaller portion. I think Jeff's was $7.99 or something. We also ordered shakes which were $4.50 and very yummy.
Next time we have family in town or something, this is definitely going to be top on our list of places to take them. It's fun, different and the food is great.

Bring it on!
I know many of my recent blog posts have complained about us being sick, Lexi pooping in the tub, etc, etc. I've tried to count my blessings, look on the bright side and do what I can to be positive. But when it comes right down to it, I've just been feeling sorry or us. I apologize and I promise this will be my last post addressing the issue.
Well, I think I turned a corner this morning and I wanted to share.
We've just gotten over what I think is our last sickness. Good news! I've been thinking that March is going to have to be a better month.
And then this morning came. :) Can you guess? Lexi pooped in the tub again!
Given my current mental state, this could have easily sent me over the edge.
But you know what? I handled it with no problem. Never mind the fact that today was my turn to teach preschool in the co-op we're in and it was due to begin soon. Never mind the fact that there was poop basically surrounding Lexi in an instant. Never mind the fact that both girls were once again traumatized. Never mind the fact that Lizette warned me that Lexi was pooping and I said "No, I don't think so honey. I just changed her. I think she is just making a funny face."
We were going to get through this and we did. I calmly remedied the situation. In the end, the tub was clean, the girls were clean and we were ready for preschool on time.
This was an empowering experience for me. Okay, so life sometimes throws us curve balls. Sometimes really gross curveballs. But, we survive. We are moms and we can handle anything. We just have to choose whether we are going to handle it with a smile on our face or not. Today I'm choosing to smile.
And, I think I'll come up with a different bath routine for Lexi...
