The Birthdays

Lexi is three!

For Lexi's birthday we celebrated by going to Pojo's and then coming back home for ice cream and cake. The girls loved Pojo's and decided that they want to go back next year and take their friends. Wonderful! They loved the merry go round and the chance to win tickets. Lexi received some fun birthday gifts this year. A lovely 18" doll which she named Callie. She loves Callie as you can see in the picture. She also got a fun carrying case for her Lalaloopsy dolls, a cute piggy purse, a fun matching game and money from Grandma and Grandpa! How fun to be three!

At three Lexi is very conversational. She loves to say actually. She can count to 12 and tries to get to 20. She knows her colors and loves to use them to make lots of pretty pictures. She can say her ABCs all day long but recognizing them is taking a little work. I think she has a little different learning style than Lizette so we are working on that. Lexi loves her sissy and loves to do everything that she does. She follows Lizette around and acts out what she does all day long. It's so cute. Lexi is such a joy in our house. Always spirited and lively! Shy to the rest of the world but a little firecracker in our house. We love our Lexi to pieces. Happy Birthday sweetie!

Lizette is Six!

Lizette was not going to have a party this year. The plan was to celebrate both of the girls birthdays at Pojo's and then they could each have their own cake and presents. Well, we decided to invite a few of the neighbors over at the last minute just for cake and ice cream on Lizette's birthday and before we knew it, we were having an all out birthday party! They brought presents and Lizette was thrilled. Jamie and the kids came by too and so we had a house full. How fun for Lizette! This is really the way to do a party! No planning. No stress. :-) It was so nice of everyone to come and bring presents last minute like that. We really didn't expect that and told them not to, but people are just so thoughtful and nice. Lizette also received some super fun gifts. She got an 18" doll as well which she named Lizzy. Hers' has glasses and is very sophisticated. She got a bunch of Polly Pockets which she couldn't have been more happy with, a beautiful handmade scarf from her friend Lexi, much needed coloring books and crayons, a doctors set, and money from Grandma and Grandpa. Wow! It's great to be six too!

At six Lizette seems to be so grown up! She keeps saying that she doesn't feel six. I keep telling her that I don't feel 39 either. :-) Lizette is such a witty little girl. Yes, I think a quick mind and a good sense of humor definitely describe her. She is sweet too. She constantly calls Lexi "honey" when they are talking and is very motherly with her. She worries about how others are feeling. If she thinks someone is laughing at her, she will cry. Yes, she is sensitive! She loves her friends. Loves her friends. For being so shy, this girl is social. She LOVES having friends and cousins over to play. She is doing great in school. She can read and knows her numbers very well. She loves art and music but not so much PE. (Takes after me). She loves her friends at school and playing with them at recess. Yes, I think six is going to be a fun year for Lizette. She bring so much happiness into our home and we are so blessed that she is in our family. Happy birthday Lizette! We love you!
